Ashmita Bhattacharyya

I am an Engineering Science student at the University of Toronto, majoring in Machine Intelligence with a minor in Engineering Business.

Currently, I am completing my PEY Co-op at Huawei on the LLM Reasoning team, building transformer-based architectures for ML benchmarks. My team's work was published at ICML 2026.

Prior to this, I worked at the Vector Institute in CleverHans Lab on differentially private ML, publishing at ICML 2025. I also spent a summer at the National University of Singapore, working on an applied ML project with the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore.

I am graduating Spring 2027 and seeking new grad ML roles in industry. Across my internships I have built strong ML engineering skills and an ability to learn quickly in new environments.

Growing up, I travelled a lot. I spent most of my childhood in Singapore, a couple years in Dubai, and moved to Montréal in High School. Moving between cities and cultures has shaped me into someone who adapts quickly and connects easily with people from different backgrounds.
